Affiliate Disclosure

eresidentguide.com earns commissions from some of the services we link to. Here is exactly how that works and what it means for you.

What affiliate links are

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one and sign up for a service (a banking provider, a formation agency, an accounting tool), we may receive a commission from that provider. The commission is paid by the provider, not by you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the provider's site.

Which links are affiliate links

Affiliate links are present primarily on the formation agency comparison page, the banking comparison page (Wise Business and Revolut Business), and within individual articles where specific providers are mentioned. Every page that contains affiliate links includes a disclosure notice at the bottom of the article content.

Links to government sources (the Estonian e-Business Register, EMTA, the e-Residency programme knowledge base, the FATF website) and to general reference material are never affiliate links.

How commissions affect what we write

They don't, or at least they shouldn't and we work actively to prevent it. Our approach: we write the honest assessment first, then check whether there is an affiliate program for any provider we've already decided to recommend. We do not start with "who pays the best commission" and work backward to a recommendation.

We call out the limitations of providers we link to. The formation agency comparison page lists the caveats alongside the pricing. The banking comparison explains that Wise and Revolut are EMIs, not banks, and that deposits are not covered by the deposit guarantee scheme. The Nigeria article explains that having an Estonian company does not solve the FATF banking problem. None of this is in our commercial interest to say, and we say it anyway, because the site is only useful if it's accurate.

No paid placement or sponsored content

Providers cannot pay to be featured, ranked higher, or described more favorably on this site. There is no "sponsored" content. The only commercial relationship is the standard affiliate commission described above.
